AlbertaI regularly receive requests from buyers asking that I give them a call should a business that meets their criteria come to market.

Most often these are strategic buyers looking to purchase:

    • a competitor
    • a firm doing what they do in a different Alberta location
    • somebody who sells a different product or service to the same customer base as they do

I often have buyers who will pay all my fees:

I now have Cash Flow Buyers with family money who can pay up to $3,000,000 for growing Cash Flow. They already have a ‘back office’ so do not need administrative management in place. They have signed a non-disclosure and a commission agreement to pay all my fees.

One of them is a serious buyer of a property management firm and will consider a condo management firm.

I am in discussions with other buyers looking for businesses for sale in Alberta:

  • HVAC, refrigeration and plumbing company
    1. Commercial and/or industrial markets
    2. Annual revenues between $2.0 and $10.0 million but will also look at larger opportunities
    3. Located in BC, Alberta, Saskatchewan, or Manitoba
    4. Majority of revenue from service and preventative maintenance vs. new construction
  • I have interest in purchasing a Calgary dental practice.
  • I have a qualified buyer for a Calgary or Edmonton auto related repair business. He will not be ‘hands-on’ and needs continuing management in place. His buying power approaches 7 figures and will consider financing for larger deals.
  • I have a landscaper looking to expand. Will buy the whole business or simply contracts for yard maintenance or snow removal. Can pay up to $500,000.
    • Somebody is looking for a Commercial Janitorial Cleaning or Building Maintenance company in Calgary with revenues of at least $750,000
    • I have somebody who can put 7 figures into a profitable Calgary car wash.
    • There is a property management firm looking to buy a competitor. Low 7 figures.
    • Another group with smaller access to funds is also looking to purchase a property manager. He has agreed to pay my fees.
    • There is also a buyer for a condo management firm but needs the skill set to stay on.
    • I am speaking with a BC buyer of Alberta high tech engineering services who will pay well into 7 figures.
    • There is a Montreal firm looking for larger Calgary pubs & restaurants
    • Another westerner trying to get home has 7 figures to purchase $350,000 in cash flow. His skill set leads him towards viable and established retail but will entertain other ideas.

Plus I have folks actively looking for:

    • A buyer writes: I’m looking for a Commercial Janitorial Cleaning or Building Maintenance company in Calgary. I’d like something with at least 750k in sales or netting 150k
    • I have a repeat purchaser (DoorCo) looking for continuing cash flow in Calgary north as far as Red Deer. Currently owns diversified services and manufacturing and has key staff who could step into a departing owner’s position.  This buyer has normalized cash flow expectations in excess of $500,000.
    • There is a well qualified and well financed buyer looking for a day care provider.
    • A Subway Franchise in Calgary or Airdrie
    • A buyer writes . . .We are looking to acquire a COR Certified oil and gas service and repair company. Our focal point is the Rotating Equipment business with a finer focus on Compression service, repair and rebuild.
    • An accounting practice in the $150,000 to $200,000 price range.
    • A sand blasting operation.
    • I have a buyer for a gas station / convenience store.
    • A Wireline Operator in Alberta or Saskatchewan wants three or four trucks doing $3 million plus.
    • Financial advisors looking to purchase books of business.
    • A professional accountant is looking to purchase clients from a retiring practitioner.
    • A company with chemical solutions manufacturing and distribution.
    • A smaller sign company

Central Alberta Business Wanted

centralalbertamapA west country farming family is looking for a business. They will consider anything inside a rough area extending from Leduc to Innisfail to Camrose to Sylvan Lake. The family is pre qualified up to $1.2 million. Any potential seller will have to sign a commission agreement.

Please give me a call if you are a potential seller of any of the above.

But suppose you are a potential seller and have read this far down only to discover there’s no expressed interest in your industry.

I find buyers. I’ve made it pretty painless.

I work on a best efforts policy. No exclusive contracts. No obligation to pay if you refuse a good offer. You don’t even have to give me an original signature. Most folks simply fax me a copy of the commission agreement keeping the original for their lawyer.

Understanding the process will help you make an informed decision about what to do next.

The business selling process is best explained if you start reading here.
